I started with AKC in the early seventies, showing and handling German Shepherd dogs. However, once I was introduce to “working dogs” I knew I found my passion, niche the thing I wanted to do with dogs.
Shortly thereafter, I started a school, in New York City , that trained dogs for obedience, personal protection, property protection and narcotics detection.
I then moved to Phoenix in the mid seventies, a family move and discovered Schutzhund a few years later. This is where my knowledge of dogs started to bloom. See, I joined the Phoenix Schutzhund Club and I was hungry for knowledge, wanting to learn everything, fortunately for me the Phoenix Schutzhund Club had the same urge that I had for working dogs bringing some of the best trainers and working Judges to the club for seminars and trials from Europe and Canada. Hence, my passion for the sport.
For me, training dogs from start to finish is such a rewarding feeling that no one can take away from you , it’s your work being demonstrated by that animal . The happiness the vigor that the dog displays when working , is a second to none feeling. And is probably why I do it.
I have trained and competed with dogs from puppy to Schutzhund 3 numerous times, competed and placed in all of the major national trials and have won the South West Regional Championship 5 times. I have earned the gold sportsmanship medal and my achievements have been published in Dog Sport magazine, Canine Concepts , VNB Eagle and Schutzhund USA.
